The administration also argued Friday night that the cost of the Western Regional Conference increased sharply under the Bush White House -- from $93,000 in 2004 to $323,855 in 2006 to $655,025 in 2008, then $840,616 in 2010, or just 28 percent under Obama.

Both administrations spent irresponsibly. I think it became news now because of the video, mind reader, etc.
Shamelessly wasting money in DC isn't news; it's business as usual.

You see. This is a part of the mess I inherited from the last administration. Everyone of these employees were hired by the Bush administration as favors to the Koch brothers.

It’s weird how the communist DemocRATS never want to take any responsibility for their actions. This fiasco with the hip hop video clips rubbing it in the nose of the taxpayers occurred when the Obama regime was in charge. What happened before is irrelevant. It has to stop somewhere. The Obamanazis should have stopped it.

It is a popular delusion that the government wastes vast amounts of money through inefficiency and sloth. Enormous effort and elaborate planning are required to waste this much money. P.J. O’Rourke, Parliament of Whores

The excessive budget for that department is only half of the issue. The appalling manner in which they spent that money (and mocked the taxpayers while doing it) is the other.
The partying happened on Obama’s watch.

back when I worked in advertising, we would have a competition at the annual retreat that consisted of which team made the best video. we would do stuff like this all the time on our dime though. If we did anything on company time, it had to be accounted for.
They spent way too much money on this and they were too eager to make it public.

It's really a political nightmare (stick in the eye) to see the person who continues the irresponsibilities to blame it on one of the major politicians who over-spent in the government. I thought I would never say that the Bush administration put us on this path in getting Obama in the first place. Bush left his conservatism to get along. Now, that same Bush team wants us all to our trust and rally behind them. I see why Obama is tapping into this for his base. Recall that rage and blame against Bush and the bail outs. The people who know Bush is partly responsible will always know that but this story is for his base and to send a message-you want the old Bush team there again (and that's not working for our side-the Bush moderates who need to be replaced with a new generation of conservatives from my view)

Bush made that Obammy appointee throw a million dollar bash in Los Vegas. What a shirker and liar.
With Obama, it’s always someone else’s fault.
To: FlingWingFlyer
Remember in 2009 when Joe Biden was going to go through the entire federal budget and stimulus with a FINE TOOTH COMB.
This is 100% the regime’s fault.
To: ding_dong_daddy_from_dumas
does this guy ever take any responsibility for anything done on his watch or is it just the good and made up stuff? What a joke. Can’t wait for the November elections. We need pride again in our country and a President who loves the citizens and protects us as he is supposed to do. I pray to God for this every single day!!!

With Obama, its always someone elses fault.Yes, with Bush wasting more and more every other year on the event, Obama had to keep up the standards. AFAIK, Bush's bashes were not as in-your-face, but O will continue to look for evidence of debauchery in previous events.
