“Your example is fine for a human. God is the creator of all though. His knowing something will happen, means it must happen, right? Why would He create someone He knows will do something wrong?”
I don’t mean this sarcastically but, do you believe God is the creator of all? By human logic and scientific understanding, nothing has ever been observed to spontaneously be created out of nothing without a cause, a prime mover, a creator. Logic would then dictate that this creator, by the example given of creation itself, would thereby have the ability to do whatever they willed, like making sure His word would stand over time. In his word he has authenticated himself through prophesy that has been fulfilled. He tells me, in His word, that he knew the problem of sin could arise from free will so he offered a simple solution.
I chose to believe the One that is capable of creating an entire universe over fallible man.
God loves you. He died for you, even on a cross. It’s a free gift. What can it hurt to accept it?
Yes, I do. The same ‘logic would then dictate that this creator, by the example given of creation itself, would thereby have the ability to do whatever they willed, even what’... seems like a contradiction to us, right?
I believe He tells each of us what He wishes, that is why people think and behave differently, and why there are differing faiths.
I don’t choose to believe, I just believe because that’s the way He created me. If I wake up tomorrow believing as you do, fine with me.
