Conservatives ally for a reset of election expectations (RINOs: we shouldn't seek conservatives)

Some influential conservative thinkers have concluded that Mitt Romneys struggle to ignite voter enthusiasm reflects a more serious problem for Republicans in setting unrealistic expectations for their presidential nominee. Calling their alliance Project Liberty, the newly formed group says the former Massachusetts governor cannot beat President Obama unless tea party members and the GOPs activists including conservatives on the Republican National Committee adjust their mindset about insisting on a fully formed, ideologically reliable candidate as their standard-bearer.... Project Liberty backers have concluded that Mr. Romney will not win the White House on the basis of something he is not a 21st century American philosopher-king. Nor will he win the presidency unless the rights various interest groups, from tea party activists to RNC conservatives, unite. The rights unrealistic search for the knight in shining armor helps explain the rise and fall of a string of challengers to Mr. Romney in the nomination merry-go-round this year. Project Libertys founders also say that longing explains why tea partyers split their vote about evenly between Mr. Romney and Rick Santorum in the Illinois primary, late in the primary season.

"Ultimately, our goal, when the GOP finally has the White House and both houses of Congress again, is to return to founding principles," Mr. Yue said. What happens if you shedded so many principles that by the time you get there you've lost your way?

I'll take that as a "Yes, I am gonna send the GOP a strong message and screw my children and grandchildren at the same time 'cause I didn't get my way...so there....spit!"

Voting for Obama, I see. You've got it backwards. A vote for Romney is a vote for Obama.

If Mitt wins the nomination and wants conservatives to support him he should put in writing that he will only serve one term.
Then he will beat Obama.

Based on total bullsh!t! WE ARE NOT INSISTING FOR A PURE AND PERFECT CONSERVATIVE... we are more than willing to accept extremely flawed candidates such as Santorum and Gingrich. romney is a socialist... not some progressive North East Liberal... he is a full court press progressive... fag loving... gun grabbing, pro baby killing liar and cultist... what a guy. Screw anyone trying to use that argument against those of us that find voting for romney so egregious that we absolutely will never vote for that evil slimeball deceiver.

Mitt Romney says stupid crap that would make Joe Biden proud and the media conveniently doesn’t find them worthy of reporting......yet.

I believe you are correct. Romney's not a Marxist, he doesn't hate America, and he will not bow before dictators. Those may be the only good things I can say about him. But compared with the prospect of four more years of Obama - which will be the death of America, for real - it may have to do. A piss cocktail is a whole lot better than cyanide.

But Bishop Willard is a leftist, and that is what they do. Twist the language and frame the issue. ‘Pro-choice’, ‘gay’, ‘moderate’, etc. Willard is a leftist in his thoughts, deeds, record and modus operandi.

The evidence that Santorum and Gingrich were the first choice of no one can be found in the fact that neither rocketed to the top upon announcing that they were running. That said, both men stand head and shoulders above Mitt Romney.

Your old one was better, IMO:
‘You can be a Romney Republican or you can be a conservative. You can’t be both. Pick one.’
Romney Republican is an ID that needs to be hung around their necks. Hardly anyone even remembers Rockefeller anymore anyway. Time to update the the pastel patriot designation.

You seem to be fixated on “Spoiled tantrum, not getting my way, whaaaa!!!”
Pull your head out and get a nice clean breath of air. They are the same, no difference and no amount of ridicule on YOUR part changes that. Romney will not stop, will not turn back ANYTHING Obama has done. There is no choice.
But, I suppose you’ll feel better if Romeny wins, as we circle the drain anyway, at least the leader in the White HOuse will be an R.
And do not ‘child’ me.

What the GOP is putting forth with Mitt is already in place in Britain where David Cameron is hated as much as the creepy Brown or Blair and is well on the way of finishing off any Conservatism left in the Tory Party.

You are 100% correct and I will do what our founders would have done... I will not vote for a socialist, baby killing liar that is just as progressive as the cancer that infects the White House today. You want to know the difference between liberals and Conservatives in America today? Liberals believe every progressive lie that hits their ears... Conservatives can tell a lie by the third syllable. It matters not what letter is beside the name of the liar. republicans would vote for satan if it meant more power and money for their machine.

Agreed. The party-uber-alles submissives and kapos cannot see or even comprehend that though. They would trade the little that remains for the short term appearance of victory over a lame duck, lazy failure.
