He may well be. I think he will lose some southern states that would have supported ANY of the other GOP candidates. It wouldn't surprise me at all. I think that a lot of nominal Christians are going to be shocked when they begin to learn about Mormonism and a lot of Republicans (like nodems) are going to be dismayed when they learn of Romney's real political record and Romney takes his predicted leftward turn in the general election. Republicans are likely to stay home in droves. All Obama has to do is avoid sprouting horns between now and general election and he's back in thanks to the GOP-e, the Romneybots, and their sycophants.

(If Mitt can leave the GOP to protest Reagan, why can't I do the same in protest of Romney?)

you nailed it ... perfectly ... the MSM already have their “Truth aAbout Mormons” daily news “factoids” in the can, ready for 24/7 viewing ... IF Willard gets the nomination ...

WHOA!!! Granted; all the above are to blame, but, don't forget that THE CONSERVATIVES HAVE TO SHARE SOME OF THE BLAME for the friggin' mess we're in in 2012. Where the hell are the good Conservative candidates? Where the hell is Jim DeMint, Paul Ryan, Sarah Palin............? No, the Conservatives in the GOP don't have the balls to run so we're stuck with a bunch of losers (like Rick Perry who is as dumb as a friggin' coal bucket) and we have winnowed the field down to "Kook-Daddy" and the Three Stooges. WE, THE CONSERVATIVE WING OF THE GOP, DESERVE MOST OF THE BLAME.
