Does Romney have a 14-Million-Man Army ready for General Election? (Vanity)
April 6, 2011 | no dems

Another FReeper, in another posted comment, just this week, stated that his Mormon neighbor was obsessed with getting a Mormon, Mitt Romney, elected President of the United States. That statement has "stuck in my craw" ever since I read it; which begs to question:

If Mitt Romney is the GOP Nominee for POTUS, will the 14 million Mormons in the U.S. mobilize for him during the General Election? Hmmmmm....... Just wondering. The Mormon Church not only has a lot of "foot soldiers", but they know how to "mobilize". They've done it for decades.

Do not underestimate RINO-Rom in the GE. He's hungry. He's been running for the White House for 6 years. He, and the LDS Church have mega bucks. The Marriott Hotel Chain, for example, is a Mormon corporation; just to name one. And, the Primary season proved he will stoop to anything to win. Unlike McCain, he just might be capable of getting as "down and dirty" as the DemocRATS. And, I must say, it's kinda refreshing to see a Pubbie who will not bend over for the street-wise Dems like most Republicans do. Maybe there are some 'nads inside the "Magic Underwear".

Did they mobilize for Harry Reid?
______________________________________________________________

No, the very popular, Pro boxer, Manny Pacquio, mobilized the minorities and paid for buses to drive them to the polls enmasse. Plus, we had a weak candidate up against him. I was for Sharron Angle from beginning to the end, but, another candidate could have defeated “Dirty Harry”. I’m a member of the Tea Party, but this time, the Tea Party darling was out of her league.

How is a Maoist Mormon an improvement over a Marxist Muslim?

Mittster is Obama’s mini-me.......and will be whupped like a rented mule by the MSM. By the end of October the MSM will have him indistinguishable from Warren Jeffords of the FLDS.

Well, we have a Black President for whom 98% of the Black voted for as a “block”. Conservatives vote as a block. Liberals vote as a block. Gays vote as a block. Pro-choice and Pro-Lifers vote as a block. Environmentalist wackos vote as a block. Thanks to “block” voting, we now have the likes of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Louie Farrakhan having open access to the Marxist Muslim in the White House. Now, what was your point?

The Mormons got their asses handed to them in the Arizona governor election (Salmon vs Jonny Napalitino). The estrogen came out in droves. Surprising since the candidate was a very iffy woman.

One of the very foundations of mormonism teaches racism,
______________________________________________________________

Who gives a crap? Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Louie Farrakhan and B. Hussein Obama teach racism against “whitey”. When it all boils down, the majority of ALL AMERICANS ARE RACIST to some degree. This is a friggin’ non-issue.

I felt that way about Gingrich — if he had stuck to attacking Obama, and been dismissive of the attacks against him, and continued to voice a positive vision instead of going after Bain capital, he could have won Florida and been President. But he became the Gingrich we all remember from the 1990s, the one who got into a snit about being stuck on the back of Air Force One.

But you know, you get the candidates who are willing to run, warts and all. Perry would have been great, if he had just waited two months instead of running while still doped up on medication because he just had back surgery. Santorum is Santorum, Gingrich is Gingrich. Unfortunately, both were flawed candidates.

The point, which you demonstrate quite well, is that average voters are more likely to vote for someone who they can identify with, rather than against a candidate who they feel no connection to. This is how bloc voting works.

The fact conservatives, Christians, gun owners, pro-lifers, rural conservatives and the middle class don’t identify with Romney gives Obama a big edge.

All Obama has to do is avoid sprouting horns between now and general election and he's back in thanks to the GOP-e, the Romneybots, and their sycophants.

WHOA!!! Granted; all the above are to blame, but, don't forget that THE CONSERVATIVES HAVE TO SHARE SOME OF THE BLAME for the friggin' mess we're in in 2012. Where the hell are the good Conservative candidates? Where the hell is Jim DeMint, Paul Ryan, Sarah Palin............? No, the Conservatives in the GOP don't have the balls to run so we're stuck with a bunch of losers (like Rick Perry who is as dumb as a friggin' coal bucket) and we have winnowed the field down to "Kook-Daddy" and the Three Stooges. WE, THE CONSERVATIVE WING OF THE GOP, DESERVE MOST OF THE BLAME.

The Warren Jeffords grenade was lit by Hillary in early 2008 who thought she would get to run against Mitt.

Re 129......the biggest impediment we struggle with is that We the People have yet to grasp that the Two Party system is NOT the Dems-GOP.....nor is it Liberals-Conservatives.

It Iis DC-Flyover Country. The Lords and Masters -the peons and peasants. The day that reality dawns is the end of Federalism. They keep trying to literally dilute that understanding in Flyover Country.

Who says I have to support either of these two candidates? The GOPe?

There are a number of third-party candidates running, or one could always stay home.

RE: "This is a friggin’ non-issue."

Again! -- and as long as I am permitted to post replies I say again -- my issue is NOT that Mormons are (were) or are (were) not racists! Above I put racism vis-a-vis Mormons in quotes -- that is suppose to signal something.

To the best of my ability I attempted to explain more than once the reason that I posted my original reply; to wit,

I heard Mitt Romney brag that his dad George walked out of the 1964 Republican Convention to protest Goldwater Republican racism (no quotes bracket the word racism! but it was an audio maybe his text version does say "racism", to be fair).

FOR FIFTY F'IN YEARS STARTING DURING YEARS 1963 AND 1964 THE ROCKEFELLER REPUBLICANS LIKE GEORGE ROMNEY CALLED ME AND MILLIONS OF OTHER AMERICANS RACISTS -- AND GEORGE ROMENY MEANT THE EXACT SAME MALICE THAT COMMIES, LIBERALS, PROGRESSIVES, BLACK NATIONALISTS -- THE LOT OF THEM -- MEANT.

So it is satisfying for me that AFTER 50 F'IN YEARS a son of a Rockefeller Republican has to go through what he -- George Romney -- helped put us Goldwater supporters through. Thank you, Lord!

Yes I shall vote for Romney, the son.

You're completely mixing up ideology and positions, which people SHOULD vote on, with ethnicity, which should have nothing to do with someone's vote, unless you're a bigot for your own "kind."

My point was clear. I was saying that if Mormons are voting 98% for the Mormon candidate, then Mormons must see themselves as different from other Christians, even though they claim they're just a mainstream Christian religion like every other one.

Of your examples, people SHOULD vote on the below, what else would you vote on if not the issues and policies you want the government to enact? These have nothing to do with race or gender. Of course some of these tie in with religious values, but that gets to my point. If Mormons have the same religious values as regular Christians, why do they all seem to think the Mormon candidate is so much better? Mormons must not have the same values as Catholics or evangelicals if those candidates are less acceptable than the Mormon.

conservative
liberal
pro-choice
pro-life
environmentalist wacko

The other issue for me is that Romney is a product of the Utah GOP, which has protected Warren Jeffs, the FLDS and other polygamist Mormon offshoots that have engaged in child sex trafficking. Here’s a eye-opener:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2022139/Warren-Jeffs-trial-Heavy-breathing-sex-tape-3-wives-including-bride-12.html

God bless Texas for cleaning up the Utah GOP’s mess and putting Jeffs and ten of his top lieutenants behind bars.

RE: "The other issue for me . . . ."

The issue for me is NOT Mormons -- my issue is a Rockefeller Republican and son who just happen to be Mormons which matters not one whit vis-a-vis my issue.

The issue for me AGAIN! is the joy that it brings to me that the son of a Rockefeller Republican is being put through what his father helped put tens of millions of American through fifty years ago -- and yes IT STILL MATTERS TO ME, thank you.

.. plus, we Goldwater supporters will put America first and not try to sabotage the ticket and help the Dems.

I understand. For me it is a “Protecting children from the sex trade” as well as “Law and Order” issue with the Utah GOP. We’re not talking about 200 years ago, or even a 100 years ago. We’re talking in the last decade. The State of Utah, which is controlled at all levels by the GOP, gave a pass to a man who audiotaped himself raping 12-year-old children in the name of Jesus.

In any other red state (like Texas), in any swing state, and even in the majority of blue states, Warren Steed Jeffs would have faced justice a long time ago. However, the State of Utah, under heavy Republican control, refused to get involved when the perpetrator was the head of the largest Mormon fundamentalist sect located in the state.

To me this is proof that the Utah GOP do not share my values.
