” Newt’s greatest problem is that the world had heard of him. His barely positive image doomed him. He needed to do something else to redeem that image before running. He could have easily pulled this off, but he seemed to want to chase the limelight or cash more than redemption. “

The “ barely positive image that doomed him” was crafted with care and cash by your enemies and mine; the Lefty media, the Marxists in power, and the GOP-E who want to stay in power.

The whole $300,000 fine thing was UNNECESSARILY paid by Newt against a sham case full of dozens of false charges which were FAR more quietly dismissed after months and months of quiet delay. Much more quietly dismissed than when brought by Democrats against him.

Bloody Thursday was the icing on the cake to keep Newt from a good showing in Florida where he had led 15 points, and Rick was right there throwing what loose change he had left at the time, from his nowhere campaign, right into the mix with the Romney money.

” He could have easily pulled this off, but he seemed to want to chase the limelight or cash more than redemption. “

Newt has NEVER chased money, or been seen climbing up GOP-E legs like Rick, for favors or for his redemption. Instead, Newt has led a rather modest life with Calista letting his record speak for itself, and dealt with personal redemption where it mattered- in his Church.

He has never been a rich man, but for books he authored with no help from the political heirarchy, and the small think tanks for which he solicited funding. His money has been in those think tanks and in research, thus the couch scene with Nancy.

He has led a decent and quiet life with Calista with no profile whatsoever, except for FOX using him occasionally as the grandfather of master politics in DC.

That Republican voters have swallowed the hate media and the power-clinging GOP commentary whole, who are out against Newt in force, is a stunning commentary on the shallowness and utter ignorance of conservative voters.

Conservatives are divided because they will not stand.

We fail to defend the giant among us and for a song will run to the curb for a prissy standard poodle like Romney, or some cur mutt that barks, like Santorum.

No Sale here. We either do this thing or we cede.

” I’m in until Newt SAYS he’s OUT.” (VinL)

It’s Newt, or Obama. We have to stand, and stand with the man who cares for the country and NOT settle for the shell game and theatrics going on now.

God bless you, RitaOK!
I’m all in for Newt.

Good morning RitaOK . That was an excellent post and you captured the essence of my position on this entire mess, but I will go a wee bit further.

Personally, I am only a single vote and I am nobody important, however, I have impacted the voting potential of about 20 friends and associates. I am just a country boy and a regular Joe that loves and has served his country.

I am afraid we are going to lose this once great country and our way of life. We will not lose our country because it was taken from us, we will lose it because we gave her away.

I will NOT vote for GOP-e RINO Romney or zealot Saintorum. I have concluded that lacking a miracle, Newt will not likely get the nomination, but he will continue to have my support until he tells me to stand down. Saintorum will not be nominated, that leaves Romney.

I strongly believe that the very second that Romney gets the nomination, Obama wins another 4 years.

When the dust settles, we will not have the country that we want, but we will have the country that we will so richly deserve.

God save the Republic.....

“Conservatives are divided because they will not stand.”

You add to that division when you equate Santorum to Romney. It is not a fair comparison; Not even close. YOU are a glaring example of that division. Oh, I’m first and formost a Newt supporter, but I know Santorum is an “acceptable” alternative. Romney will never be “acceptable”....I equate Romney to Obama.

At this point the ONLY hope there is for a decent GOP candidate is to keep Romney from getting enough votes to win the convention on the first ballot. Then it becomes open and “maybe” a more conservative candidate will emerge. I know it won’t be either Newt or Rick Santorum...but at least it won’t be Romney.

So, even IF you must libel Santorum....realize he is the only real force still standing enough to possibly deny Romney the nomination. The only “hope” that 2012 won’t be a totall write off.

You deserve a standing O! it was always Newt that had to be eliminated by Romney. They knew Santorum would not be as hard to take out.
