Tuition tax credits may be a better option. Keeping your own $ is not “taxpayer dollars” .(despite what leftards may say).
Tuition tax credits are still tax dollars and must be used in ‘approved’ institutions. That’s the problem. Where could you ‘spend’ them that isn’t part of the same failed system? Would you be free to use that money to buy curricula of your own choosing for homeschooling purposes, or to fund an educational field trip as part of your homeschool plan? I sincerely doubt it. It would be worth investigating in your state. Let me know what you find out.
