I only redlighted once when I was drag racing.

LOL, well I never redlighted, back in the day, we would just idle up even on an open road and just punch it.

Would you believe some folk with little lights on the tops of their cars frowned on that youthful activity :^)

I only ever drag raced at (now defunct) Irwindale Raceway in Southern California. I didn't do any of the
illegal street-racing thing. I was a member of the Tach Twisters Car Club, and we raced a '49 Ford. I got
to race it because I was the fastest off the line, LOL! much to the chagrin of the male members of the club.

I raced my own car too, a '57 Ford Fairlane 500, box stock, but lots of fun. I ran the #4 Money bracket,
and I won most races. My W-2 form from the raceway was addressed to Mr. S. MyLastName, LOL!
