Much reluctantly I might add ...no... more than reluctantly. I hate this primary....worse than when McCain screwed us.”

Thank you, Caww. I can respect that.

For whatever it's worth, I took a bunch of hits in my own conservative Christian circles for making a case that evangelicals could vote for someone with Gingrich's background.

My argument, in brief, was:

1) to cite evangelical pastors testifying to the legitimacy of Gingrich's repentance, and
2) then to say that even if we don't believe he's sincere, numerous political leaders with seriously problematic morals were key to advancing the Reformation and also the fight against Islam, and
3) also to say that I believe Gingrich is strongly committed to promoting Western Judeo-Christian civilization and fighting Islam.

If the situation were reversed, I would be calling for Santorum supporters to back Gingrich right now in a last-ditch effort to defeat Mitt Romney. Defeating Romney needs to be the goal, because I believe a Romney nomination runs a serious risk of re-electing President Obama.

On another note...should this go to convention the question is who are the delegates?..... How much money and deals will be swung around like a lottery winning.....

We are in sad condition when the highest bidder can buy anyone....and everyone has a price.

Romney can't be defeated at this point, he can only be "objected to." And I will object to him.

Not long ago I was among those who called for Santorum to quit the race and get behind Newt Gingrich, clearly the better alternative to Mitt Romney.

Santorum dug in, being a principled fellow.

The race kept going Romney's way because the anti-Romney element was divided.

Now Santorum comes to my state, PA, and asks for my vote. He wants me, a Gingrich supporter, to back him strategically, you know, just to hold Romney at bay.

Well, excuse me, but I'm going to vote my principles and vote for Newt Gingrich.

Again, where was Santorum on the principles/practicality meter, going into Florida? That's where I am as Santorum goes into Pennsylvania.

Always said he couldn't beat Romney, now he wants me to waste my vote on him. I'm voting anti-Mitt AND anti-Rick.
