Oh, you'll get no argument from me. I agree completely, though 2008 wasn't very strong either. But to paraphrase Don Rumsfeld, you fight with the army you have.
Although sometimes, I think those of us of a certain age were spoiled by Reagan.

Let me add by illusion, I mean that the dims and republicans setup the government to look as if it were “Of, by and for the People”... when it is anything but that in reality.
