Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged mastermind behind the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States, and four accused co-conspirators will be tried by a military commission at Guantanamo Bay, the Pentagon announced Wednesday.
The five men were charged with crimes that carry the death penalty -- the alleged planning and execution of the deadliest attack on U.S. soil since Pearl Harbor. Nearly 3,000 people were killed in the 2001 attacks.
In addition to Mohammed, the others charged Wednesday are Walid Muhammad Salih Mubarak bin Attash, Ramzi Binalshibh, Ali Abdul Aziz Ali and Mustafa Ahmed Adam al Hawsawi. They will be arraigned within 30 days at Guantanamo Bay, the U.S. miltary's in Cuba, according to the Pentagon. The five are all being detained at the prison there.
The Office of Military Commissions referred the terrorism charges to a capital commission and will pick a military judge to preside over the joint case.

Why did it take this long? I am positive after they are executed that oBambi will be using them to show how “tough” he is on terrorism. Waited for his election year to trot them out.

Why did it take so long....I don’t know but maybe the trial might delve into how so many ignorant Saudi Arabians could manage to take over & fly 4 large jets @ max speed into 3 buildings....open up the 911 investigation and get the cards on the table during this trial! This bogus War on Terror is a laugh a minute!
