Ever notice how apologies, explanations and retractions are in the passive voice? “If anyone was offended,” or “an error was made.” Not “I am sorry that I offended some people,” or “we made a mistake.”

You can always tell if someone learned from their mistake by the shape of their apology. NBC is phoning this one in. No surprise I suppose.
