Tacticaly well done. If they have to come to you, it is hard to be ambushed.

Great when a story has a happy ending -— but I don’t think I would have yelled back at the intruder as did this homeowner. I would have preferred the element of surprise when the perp broke into the bedroom....but all’s well that ends well !!

The guy would have found himself dragging around some German Shepherds here at our house. If he got by the dogs,I’ve got a 12 gauge surprise for him.

The real reason for the 2nd Amendment. Calling the police did not help, defending themselves helped. By the time police get to the scene of an emergency call they normally start by calling for an ambulance and protecting the crime scene because the dead body they find is not the perp’s because he has disappeared.

Notice that the police were close enough to hear the crashing of a window but STILL couldn’t get there in time!

Tacticaly well done. If they have to come to you, it is hard to be ambushed. It is a very good idea to choose the battle space if you can. Holing up in a bedroom, ready to shoot when they come through the door is a good plan. The temptation to go out and investigate can be overwhelming, though. And of course, holing up is only sensible if you're the only one in the house.

How can the police suggest the victim acted appropriately. We don’t know the race of the perp.
