The only reason I cited it was to give a source for the name DeeDee. I don't recall where I got the name, and I thought you wondered if the media had released the name, after Crump saying the name would not be released.
-- Seems like a lot of people are filling in blanks that are not empty. --
Yes. And speculating on factors that are irrelevant to the ultimate outcome - except perhaps as windows into the credibility of certain witnesses and certain observations.
-- NBC's internal review is a OMG we got caught, how do we cover our azz from a lawsuit moment. --
Amazing how low the media will go. There really is no bottom to it. Liars of the highest order.
Well, it still sounds like pure speculation by Serino (if in fact Serino said this.) Honestly, what bothers me more if indeed Serino is speculating this, is that it seems to me that if Martin initiated a confrontation first, Zimmerman’s account of self-defense following an assault by Martin is more credible to me, not less. But his judgment in leaving his car to find Martin is more difficult to explain, given his history of reluctance to personally confront suspicious people in the neighborhood.
1. Z watching TM, TM comes over and they talk, window rolled up. Z keeps watching, and calls dispatch. Z's account over the phone is honest - TM stares, approaches, stares more, hands in waistband, runs.
2. Z watching TM, TM comes over and they talk, window rolled up. TM runs away. Z pissed. Z calls dispatch and makes up the narrative.
I don't see time for the recorded call, THEN two separate spoken encounters, the first with Z back in his truck. The evidence diverges too far from that theory.
I don't believe your scenario of a confrontation before the dispatch call works. If Zimmerman had a confrontation with Martin before he called SFD, then wouldn't he have known that Martin was black? Instead, when the dispatcher asks "is he white, black, hispanic" Zimmerman answers "he looks black". Then later, when Martin gets closer to him, he confirms by saying "he's black".
Only two people really know what happened that night and one of them is dead. I love how everyone is demanding a "complete investigation". Kind of hard to do with no eyewitnesses, a couple people who might have heard something, but aren't sure what and a partial phone call heard by a biased underaged witness. Same for the big Justice Department "hate crime" investigation. I wouldn't touch that assignment with a 10 foot pole.
I don't think it works either. That's why I'm puzzled, and wondering where Serino got that theory.
I also don't think a version works where there is Z's call, then Z back in his truck for a first encounter, then wait minutes, then go out for the second encounter. That theory has even more holes in it. Not enough time, for one, and nobody else is telling that version. Not Crump, not DeeDee, etc.
Sereno wasn't up to date on other issues of case. (Hadn't listed to the 911 tapes.
He was “playing good cop” and leading witnesses on to see if they would reveal more information. Would be the first time a white lie or innuendo was used to try to get more information.
Thanks PhatHead.
Speculation, fabrication, or Z gave testimony to that effect.
I agree with your other remarks; and they mirror Serino's comments to the young witness's mother - the two encounter theory is useful to ascribe sinister motive to Zimmerman.
I did wonder if he had heard the Zimmerman / dispatch recording. If so, how did he fit that into the two contact scenario.
Astonishing.
It could have just as easily been “we're looking into the possibility of ______________________ and if racial profiling was an issue as a reply to something others had said. People sometimes hear what their preconceived ideas want to hear.
OTOH the officer should be target of internal investigation to see if he has an agenda.
Still would like to know the family's background ala “Joe the Plumber” No one in the media has touched that angle.
Which family? I'd spare Martin's folks the probe, unless Zimmerman is charged.
Thanks, I’ll check it out.
Martin...I’d want it on the shelf....Knowing that I knew what I was dealing with, not to use it against them. But if their insisting on it going to court let ALL the facts come out.
Keep askin’ questions FRiend! For instance, 1) The nearest 7-11 is 3/4 miles away (1 1/2 miles round trip - in the rain)? (My kids wouldn’t do that, especially at night), 2) Where is the 7-11 tape showing him buying those items?, 3) Cash register receipt showing Skittles and tea?, 4) Did cops recover Skittles and tea?, 5) Could he have gone out to buy drugs nearby instead? (He was on a 10 day suspension for pot and a bong in school and Zimmerman did say he was wandering around and looked like he could have been on drugs).
“The huge key there is when Zimmerman is told to not follow, he just says ok.”
He was not “TOLD not to follow”; he was informed “we don’t need you to do that” And moreover, he said he had lost sight of Martin in the dark and was returning to his vehicle, when Martin approached him from the back, left hand side and asked Zimmerman “do you have a problem” - “no” - “well NOW you do”. (Sounds like a challenge to me.) Then Martin sucker punched Zimmerman, who was 4-5 inches shorter and was armed but NOT displaying his weapon. That is exactly the sort of thing a young, brash, wannabe gangster would do!

Where is the evidence that he, in fact, had Skittles and tea? I haven’t seen that yet!
JC
You are correct; there is a plethora of ignorance, stupidity and trolling going on here!! (You know who you are!)
JC
” Screams not George Zimmerman’s, 2 experts say”
Except there was an eye-winess to the fight with Martin on top, beating the heck of of Zimmerman, who was screaming for help at the time. Zimmeran has a broken nose and skull contusion, and is clearly the one requiring help! Have you ever tried shouting out for help while your fists were in action beating anyone, eh?
JC
For all we know, he had marijuana in his pockets...AND WAS ON DRUGS....AND DRUNK.
No one has mentioned an autopsy but I believe it's required.
