Yep. It really doesn't add up. No one uses hollow points for target practice. You use the cheapest FMJ rounds you can find.

But you might take this story as an index of what some people think is going on: yesterday, I went to the indoor range for its opening at 9am (largest and best one in the state). When I arrived, there was a line all the way around the building. I wound up waiting more than an hour for a lane, which, as one of the attendants informed me, was nothing because on recent Saturdays, people without reservations have had to wait for three or four hours.

Yes, hollow points are used for practice. It does add up....to nothing.
