I think it’s probably too late.
Newt never came back into the running after his few early victories, but he continued drawing enough votes away from Santorum to keep Romney moving toward a winning number of delegates.
I was hoping that Newt and Rick could win enough delegates to block a Romney win on the first vote, and then could agree to work together to to combine their delegates and run one as POTUS and the other as VP. But that’s looking less and less likely.
Romney is a total disaster. Pro-abortion, the man responsible for putting gay marriage over the top and gays in the military. He provided the model for Obamacare, and will certainly not work against it. He is a crony capitalist, a left wing socialist, a big spender, and a Mormon bishop who sees himself as the fulfillment of Joseph Smith’s dreams of a Mormon takeover of the presidency.
I will not vote for Romney the baby-killing gay lover under any circumstances. Which apparently leaves us with Obama again, unless we can somehow agree on backing a single third-pary conservative write-in candidate. Or, rather, a second party write-in candidate, since the GOP has now effectively committed suicide. It is dead, finished, gone with the Whigs.
But agreement on a second-party candidate is looking less and less likely, too. Once again, the libertarians are splitting away from the social conservatives, and could care less about working with them, although that’s the only possible way that we can win and straighten out this mess. And once again, we see Freepers busy attacking the other conservative candidates in the race, apparently clueless about the consequences of doing that.
Well, let us pray for our country.
I’ve been off this forum for more than 40 days. Probably no one has noticed or cares.
Have given up alcohol and red meat for Lent along with shutting down the TV esp the news outlets including Fox. Haven’t listened to Rush during this time and alas haven’t read or posted on FR until this AM.
What have I learned? My friends, I’ve learned what we’ve expected. The media, from all sides, bombards us 24/7 with their propaganda. This includes Rush, Hannity etc.
Secondly, nothing really newsworthy has happened during this time. So, again, I’m glad I’ve focused on my own spirtual reawakening instead of that which is focused in the media, and even here.
The only thing important is what we do each day to ourselves and those around us.
I have no respect for the likes of Ann Coulter and even Michelle Malkam has let me down. IT’s clear that the story is and will always be about them.
This country is in trouble we all know that. All we can do, is in are own little way make each day brighter for someone else.
I think of this daily and even more now with the start of Holy Week.
