NBC? Faking news?

You'd think that a goggle and bing search would find what I was looking for when my criteria was: nbc dateline cherry bomb chevrolet pickup gas tank

But no. At least not on the first page of results. Though Bing found a blog reader's comment with a vague reference to that infamous fake "investigation."

To be fair, NBC just knew that the Chevy pick up's saddle gas tanks would explode but they couldn't make it happen and there was this deadline.. see and so they just helped it along with a cherry bomb . . . .

Your search was too specific. If you search “nbc dateline chevrolet pickup gas tank” (no “cherry bomb”) the story comes up right away. In fact all ten on the first page refer to the story.
