Statistics are low, IMO ... not all collisions cause enough damage to be reported.

I’ve hit a few here in Michigan. Last fall my aunt bought a new car and hit a deer on her way home with it then hit another the next morning on her way to the garage.

And that's part of the reason we have the 3rd highest car insurance rates in the nation.
When I lived in PA, I drove I79 through WV one fall. It looked like God had bombed the entire route with blood filled water balloons, every fifty yards or so. I guess when a semi tractor trailer hits a deer, it just explodes! My father-in-law says you never even feel it, you just hear the thump.
