The Air Force has confirmed that a major who went missing in Kyrgyzstan six years ago was kidnapped, debunking an online smear campaign that claimed she went AWOL, the Air Force Times reported.

Maj. Jill Metzger disappeared from a department store near Manas Air Base in September 2006. When she surfaced three days later, she said she had been abducted from the store and later escaped from her captors.

Now, the Air Force Office of Special Investigations says they have completed their inquiry and found that the evidence supports Metzger's account.

Something is still fishy here. Why wasn't she hailed as a heroine for escaping her abductors? The PC Air Force and military is always looking to showcase brave women. This was a highly connected major, and just because the OSI talked with 100s of people doesn't mean this was not a hoax.

Number 1 question: why was she reported missing and kidnapped, and a few days later reported "found", with very little fanfare?

This whole story does just not add up.

Yes. I don’t know what the real story is, but this really doesn’t compute. It took them six years to clear her?

“I don’t know what the real story is” Say wasn’t there some allegation that she might be pregnant and her husband was at Eglin AFB while she was deployed to stanland? So this kidnapping was to cover up some indiscretion, without him finding out.

I don’t know. This happened so long ago, I don’t remember if I heard about it or not. But something like that could explain it.

Now it is clear.

Instead of taking the most logical path to investigate, the OSI waited 6 years after the case was cold, then started looking fot the abductors, couldn't find evidence so there was no case. The case was blocked by the 4 stars to protect the reputation of one of their own.

I have no idea what the facts are in this case, but reading both sides of a controversy is probably a good idea.
