Afflicted? I’m not sure how the use of that word will be taken by gays in this country...
Many consider this something to be ACCEPTED *AND* CELEBRATED ( whether you like it or not ).

Then let them accept and celebrate it; in my state we had a governor thus afflicted who was no anamoly, and it put a spotlight on the “lifestyle” that many wished hadn’t been exposed.
