Rep. Paul Ryan endorses Mitt Romney
The Hill ^ | March 30, 2012 | Justin Sink

House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) is expected to endorse Republican frontrunner Mitt Romney before Wisconsin's GOP primary next Tuesday, according to media reports.

Ryan would be the latest in a string of high-profile endorsements for Romney this week, as party leaders have increasingly coalesced around the former Massachusetts governor's campaign. The Wisconsin lawmaker would join popular freshman Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and former president George H. W. Bush in signaling support for Romney this week.

I guess the founding fathers should have put a IQ test requirement, for voting, in the Constitution.

(1) Ryan isn't as smart as he'd like for you to believe. -- Agreed.

(2) Ryan and his buddies imagine it's possible to win a Presidential election without volunteer "GET OUT THE VOTE" folks. That particular theory is the primary reason why Romney really has had a tough time getting 50% except in captive areas with large numbers of Mormons. (or where MIttbots have flat out cheated). -- Agreed. Why the faint of heart can't faint. It almost proves they are worried the rabble is getting to big for its britches.

(3) He's in fear of the Gadianton warriors. -- this sent me to google - but I still don't get whether they are proMormon or anti...

It is becoming increasingly difficult to argue with people who I always identified as conspiracy theorists, when they say our votes are meaningless and the entire Presidential election is wrestling. Everything is scripted and the candidates hand picked.

I had an old friend who spent 40 years in the CIA and he told me this too. Nobody becomes candidate for President without others (whoever that is) approval, and that includes Obama whom he said was handpicked in 2005. He told me when he announced his candidacy and he was polling at what 8%, that he would beat Hillary and become President. I laughed at him and thought all the years of doing strange things have made him crazy...guess not. I don’t laugh at him anymore.

If you are wondering he told me he would serve 8 years.

Somebody let the most opportunistic pros sidetrack the TEA Party.

Start with them.

Ryan goes first.

Send 'em a message ~ withdraw support from Walker and his cronies in the recall election.

That tags one of their buddies out now. Should serve as a serious warning.

From the outset, Romney was touted as "the frontrunner" and "likely nominee". In the very first debates it was all Romney all the time with his hour-long rebuttals every time his name was mentioned. The media was all about his money and organization that the others lacked. It was from all sides and continues to be.

We also can't rule out simple behind the scenes chicany on Romney and the GOP-E's parts.

Take Virginia, for instance. Both Perry and Gingrich sincerely thought they had met the signature requirements to be on the ballot. Yet, Perry and Gingrich - who were the only two candidates whose submissions were subjected to strenuous scrutiny - somehow both managed to have just enough of their signatures rejected to disqualify both of them.

Now, are both of these men and their candidates really just a bunch of flaming incompetents, or is there more, in fact, to all of this?

We should note that Romney's and Paul's signature submissions went basically unchecked.

It's almost as if the "powers that be" wanted Virginia to be a two-man race between Romney and Paul, which they knew Romney would win.

I don’t like Romney, ok he sucks (see my tagline). I wanted Sarah Palin, then I wanted Newt, but that isn’t going to happen, sorry the voters have spoken.

But the people who say they won’t vote for Romney are being foolish. He’s not perfect, but I can tell you he won’t be the horrible disaster that Obama has been on this nation. i don’t think he’s going to rock the boat too much, he’ll manage things, and with a conservative congress, I can’t see him doing too much damage. He will be an improvement, and I think I would feel infinitely safer under a Romney administration, than I would under an Obama administration.

And people, spare me the "then you're just voting for OBAMA!!!!!" garbage

That's been my whole point of using this year to promote a truly conservative third-party option. Nominating candidates who evoke no better than a bland "meh" isn't a winning strategy.

“If I vote 3rd party in November ... “

I’ll simply consider you less than a deep thinker. Romney isn’t all that great, but he doesn’t hate America. A Romney administration would not leak the fact that the Israelis got access to airbases in Azerbajan, hoping the leak would negate an Israeli strike on Iran.

Romney would not siphon off $1.5Bn to the muslim brotherhood in Egypt.

Romney would not be behind the race baiting that is going on in Florida.

Romney won’t promise to give away more to the Russians if they give him “space”.

That’s just a few of the differences. But, you can imagine all manner of evil intent for Romney if you like. I’ll deal with whatever happens. And I’ll be sure to read the posts here when things really start going in the dumper because Obama will be unrestrained.

It started three weeks ago after Santorum swept the south and gave Romney a hard run in Illinois.

“But it doesn’t matter. The Obama machine will crush Romney in November and then he will become dictator.”

I don’t think we’ll let that happen. If we do, it’s on us, not Romney. I’ve been for Perry all along and hoping for a miracle. I tried to support Newt but he faded very quickly. Not going to happen. The only thing that would make me support Santorum is if he happened to be the last man standing. I don’t like one thing about him. I will vote for Romney without hesitation. I take one look at his beautiful wife and family, to include his sixteen grandchildren and I’m hopeful for the families of America under a Romney presidency. I think he gets it about government getting out of the way of small business so jobs can be created. I want to support him and give him a chance to keep his promises. The healthcare sham is the biggest war we’ve ever faced in this country. He’s evolved and I’d like to test that evolution rather than let Obama continue. I sent a donation to Romney’s campaign yesterday.

Ditto. And how can people expect weak sister Boehner to draw a line in the sand, when they can’t hold one themselves.

No more Sacred Honor around here? When I think of those freezing soldiers with bleeding feet at Valley Forge and see the lack of courage and determination around me, I can’t help but ask, “What have we become?” Don’t we owe something to the memory of those soldiers? Don’t we owe the dead GIs on Omaha Beach? Don’t we owe our fellow Americans serving in Afghanistan?

What gutless wonders we are!

I was just thinking that... these people giving up remind me of the Washington troops who decided to stay behind because the Delaware River had too many ice floes... they gave up their chance to change history, and give birth to a beacon of freedom...

I wish I could source this, but I got it in my email this morning... but it should be very heartening... it is time for a guerilla movement... that is all that will do it. Newt's campaign has been misserving him for quite some time. I know a few people who tried to speak up about it, and were promptly let go... who now are back in. The GOP tentacles reach deep...

Oh NO! Gingrich Unleashes Vince Haley As New Campaign Chair

Vince Haley As usual, the main stream media spends its time parroting presidential aspirant, Speaker Newt Gingrich's, recent announcement to reduce his campaign staff by one-third and narrow his focus on those goals which he hopes will carry him on to the GOP Convention in Tampa in August. But because many of today's journalists are so ...lazy and don't know how to go a step further ... they've missed the huge story.

So, here is the big news in this whole transition: who Newt tapped as the new man in charge of the Gingrich 2012 election ship, Vince Haley—who replaces Michael Krull.

Now believe me, Haley, is a piece of work!

Best known for his keen ability to "think outside the Washington, D.C. beltway box" and... for not being afraid to verbalize and implement his unconventional–– often radical ideas—Haley, without a doubt was the quiet boots-on-the-ground, mastermind of Gingrich's South Carolina primary win.

No one in America (including former community organizer, Barack H. Obama, nor Karl Rove of the Bush administration) does grassroots strategizing as effectively as Vince Haley. Don't let the youth of Haley fool you... he is a prolific writer and one of the best opposition researchers in politics today.

His uncanny ability to draft strategic plans that include layers-upon-layers of variables and options, and also his nonchalant style of incorporating matrixes of plans A's and B's within any given strategic plan makes him a force to be reckoned with.

Haley has long been considered one of Newt's coveted secret weapons. Cloaked in an unassuming, boy-next-door persona, Vince Haley's behind-the-scenes hardball tactics have disarmed many in the political field—often catching off-guard those who have discounted his abilities. Consequently, by the time it has been realized that he has seized control of the political debate and has forever altered the trajectory of the moment ... it's too late!

So for Gingrich to unleash Haley at this stage of the political process indicates Newt has only just begun to fight.

Indeed, young Haley is one to watch... as he is sure to bring his signature "David & Goliath, hit-'em-and-kill-'em" political game plan that presents meaningful, thought-provoking issues which are sure to have Americans' tongues wagging. He has the skills to take Gingrich's flailing campaign to a whole new level, and finally, he will offer hard-hitting push backs, unlike Senator John McCain's wimpy responses back in 2008, to assure the American public that the truth gets out.

Nope... Haley will research President Obama's talking points and policies to the 'empth' degree for accuracy and take it straight to the President in a way that won't be pretty!

*Pop the popcorn and get ready for the finale!

This is all very simple. Romney is going to be the nominee. All these politicians know this. They are merely angling for their cut should Romney actually win. It is self-serving. Nothing more.

**

Well, it sucks. As a regular, everyday normal hardworking, taxpaying AMerican citizen — will I EVER GET MY CUT???

He** no. We the People don’t get the cuts anymore. It’s all decided in the backrooms.

We allow it, though, year afer year. Our leaders get theirs ...what do WE get? Usually just more of the same — go along to get along, comprOmise after compromise with Liberals, more taxes, less efficient multiplying government, corporate bailouts, a broken healthcare system, etc, etc.

Perhaps with Romney, we might not have to endure race riots ...or perhaps we still will. But one thing for sure ...NOTHING will get better in this country and very little will change.

There isn’t one ‘tea party’. There’s hundreds of them.

Ryan and DeMint are politicians. They are better than some, but they are still politicians. Most of the conservatives who are backing Romney are doing so because they think he can win, because that’s what the consultants are telling them.
