One of my customers was the owner of an asphalt blending and load-out plant in Juarez. The plant was inside a five acre, fenced-in property that was as modern as anything stateside. They had a fleet of late model Kenworth tractors and new stainless trailers. Not a drop of oil anywhere.
The razor wire on the top of the eight foot fence did give me pause...

I think it's important to point that out. The company I used to work for had a huge Mexican subsidiary and also maintained a modern, well-maintained fleet of tankers. Many Americans have the impression that the entire country is a decrepit backwater and that we must not allow their trucks on our roads.

It's a misapprehension.
