Does it really matter whether or not the feral black kids who did this doused him directly or tried to douse him? The fact is they tried to burn him to death for being white. And after the crap he had to put up with at school, I don't see how anyone could doubt his story. But, alas, his mom appears to be a single mom without much in the way of resources, so I don't expect the authorities to give her much thought. Too bad the practitioners of race aren't available at this time to help her.

Just as a matter of creating and sustaining credibility. A person who sensationalizes an incident runs the risk of being blown off.

The authorities triage the cases that come before them, mostly on the basis of physical damages. Homicides have priority over rapes, and rapes over beatings, and beatings over burglaries, etc.
