It is horrible. So many Black lives are destroyed or wasted because of the prolonged family breakdown. The Blacks that see the light and struggle to assimilate in general American culture are mocked and berated by low ife Black leader dirt bags starting with Obama. This horror will continue until Obama and his Black racist ilk are defeated politically and the Black community realizes it is going nowhere at dangerous high speed.
My heart breaks when I envision the great and grand contributions of the famed,54th Black Regiment, Massachusetts or the famed, heroic Tuskegee Airmen to the WWII air defense activity and compare them to the image of “Obama’s” son, Black Gangsta,Trayvon Martin!!! Sad!!! For the freedom bell to ring for America’s Black folks, Obama must go down to massive defeat, come November, 2012. And...he will!!! Thank God Almighty!!!

If someone came by and offered me a thousand dollars a month to let my grass grow a foot high - I would be tempted. Then if another group came along and lectured me about high grass drawing snakes into the area - and possibly making it dangerous for small children I would consider that too. As would you. Both of us would likely cut our grass and 'do the right thing'. But the incentive would still be there.
That's what welfare did to the black family. If the payout had been higher - the same would have happened in larger numbers to white young people too. By the time teens were old enough to realize it was a trap, there were too many kids, too many snakes, grass too high - and everyone was dependent. Broken families - lost fathers - black and white - a horror. These were gifts from liberals who wanted to feel good about themselves and how magnanimous they were. They didn't consider the damage perverse incentives would inflict on black families or poor white families..
Liberals never took the time to look at the unintended consequences of their desire to feel good about themselves. Responsible members of a real community. Now we have Jesse - and Black Panthers - and criminals lite. A community that thinks every two bit gang banger is Nelson Mandela. Here’s my take on these Black racist rants & raves. There is actually nothing to be said. At the end of the day, Black Americans will rue the day they ever let folks like Obama, the Black Panthers, etc. rule their game!!! The Black Panther anarchy and the Obama tyranny will not rule the day. IMHO, the crossroads for America and Black Americans is rapidly approaching and....Black Americans need to get real about their place in our free society.
Will it be individualism, freedom. liberty, equal opportunity, great education, strength of family & relatives, etc., or will it be the law of the jungle and every man for himself. Black America is adrift at sea, as is POTUS Obama and the entire Democrat Party, including the entire Black racist congressional caucus. IMHO, Obama will go down to defeat big time, come November, 2012 and he will take scores of Democrats down with him to devastating political defeat!!!
At the moment, millions of decent, loyal, dedicated, freedom loving Black Americans hide in their homes, curtins closed, lying to pollsters, praying that this racism from both sides will stop. They pray for their children, decent jobs, great education for their kids, a society where they are looked upon by all as just regular Americans. The current Black leaders, starting with Obama have no desire for such an America. They want the racism to continue, they want America to become the domain of Dictators and Tyranny!!! They want America to fail. And....you know what, when America fails, freedom fails, Black Americans failed, all of them!!! Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country. We shall soon see which pulled straw, Black America follows!!!!

Many years ago - around the spring of '64 I was doing some volunteer work out of an inner city Freedom House with some friends ... Our job was to get people in 'the community' to sign a petition. We were trying to get a civilian review board to oversea Chicago cops ( yeah, I was a liberal years ago)... So we go door to door. And EVERY door we knock on refuses us.( two white kids - two black kids) No one will sign the petition. The adults who answer the doors don't believe in what we're doing - they weren't on our side. One old black woman wagged her finger at me and gave me a mini lecture about crime. I tried to tell her about police brutality. She came back saying gang members should get their heads bashed in... those weren't her exact words - but close. It was my first experience with the reality that radicals often don't represent the people they say they're representing. We went back - turned in our blank petitions - and were told it wasn't a problem - that we would just say we were representing the community. And everyone bought it.
I guess that's my way of saying that I know what you're posting is true. Lots of people hide in their homes "praying racism from both sides will stop". They pray for their children...
I feel that if we get all this out in the open that maybe we can stop it. It'll be rough for a while - white people need to tell their side - even if the truth is painful. Everyday black citizens need to speak over the racebaiters and the white liberal elites who want to put words in their mouths. We're not going to solve this if we have no idea what's real - on either side.

I grew up in a Boston neighborhood that required a change from a bus to the subway in Central Square,Cambridge in order to get into the city.This was a black neighborhood,
From the mid forties to the late fifties,when I left the area, I often waited for the bus at night.I am female and I was never afraid,never-—it was a family area and many women traveled alone through that area,often fairly late at night.
The fear of black neighborhoods started in the 60’s and it has only become worse.
Lots of things needed improving but the pendulum swung too far and it’s become a pathetic joke.
I was young when the change took place - but you're right - there was a time when black neighborhoods were not the criminal enterprises they are today. Before the change natural leaders in the white and black communities were essentially the same types - wise adults: clergy, businessmen, professionals... They set standards that encouraged and rewarded honesty and responsible citizenship. Good character was necessary to win acceptance - standards set by ' grownups'. MLK was a product of this system. The black panthers were not.
You're right about the sixties, Mears. That time was the beginning of young black radicals raising to the top without the consent of the community - their reputations and power came from the white power structure and the white press - the MSM of our time. Reporters looking for quotable and outrageous stories had easy pickings with young and violent blacks. Conservative black ministers of old were boring compared to angry black man wanting to burn the city down. White liberals jumped on the chaos for equally self-serving reasons.... Anyhow, this is going on further than I planned - but you get the idea. It's a mess.
The task - to save the good changes of the civil rights movement while pulling incentives away from the bad stuff is not going to be easy - comfortable illusions on all sides will fall. The cliche that it'll have to get worse before it gets better will also be true. Getting 'real's' painful.
