Yeah, I'd change "ambushed" to "sucker punched." But all of that was at Martin's initiative, including approaching Zimmerman with the intention of administering a beating, asking "do you have a problem?" then saying "You do now!" as his slammed Zimmerman hard enough to knock him down.

I wouldn't. If Zimmerman was walking to his car, and was surprised to see Trayvon appear all of a sudden, it's still an ambush, even though several words were exchanged before the beatdown started.
