They are, but it is delicate; they have to beat Obama without attacking him (because the media will not permit it). It is tough to campaign with one hand tied behind yor back, but that is exactly how they have to do it (relying on Rush & company to do the heavy lifting, which they can).
“Beat Obama, without attacking him”...similar to: slowly chisel away & eventually, it will crumble.
