With a single punch, Trayvon Martin decked the Neighborhood Watch volunteer who eventually shot and killed the unarmed 17-year-old, then Trayvon climbed on top of George Zimmerman and slammed his head into the sidewalk several times, leaving him bloody and battered, authorities have revealed to the Orlando Sentinel.
That is the account Zimmerman gave police, and much of it has been corroborated by witnesses, authorities say.
Zimmerman has not spoken publicly about what happened, but that night, Feb. 26, and in later meetings he described and re-enacted for police what he says happened.
In his version of events, he had turned around and was walking back to his SUV when Trayvon approached him from behind, the two exchanged words then Trayvon punched him in the nose, sending him to the ground, and began beating him.

MORGAN: Has George ever lied to you?ZIMMERMAN: Not to my knowledge, no.
MORGAN: He's always been completely, 100 percent honest?
ZIMMERMAN: He's -- he would be the more honest of the two. The most honest brother. I would say. He's very straight and narrow. And you know, very helpful guy. Very concerned with his neighbor and the truth.
Thanks Cbold. Living up to your rep as a superlatively excellent poster, I see. ;)
If this is in fact the quote, no wonder I couldn’t find it on my own. It doesn’t look that damning to me. Saying someone is the more honest of two people isn’t calling either of them a liar per se. I try to be extremely honest myself, but I can point to people whom I consider more honest than I am despite my best efforts. If I couldn’t, I’d be a moral prig and a fathead.
Thanks again; the info is much appreciated.
If this is true, then his father was lying about Trayvon being suspended for being in an unauthorized place at school.
There are multiple versions of why Trayvon was suspended but all agree, he was suspended. So few facts have been established after one month. This delay has allowed wild speculation to go on and on.
FWIW I had heard a third explanation for his suspension, that Trayvon was suspended for beating his bus driver senseless. Of the three, the father's version [for being in an unauthorized area] is the least believable.
My pc decided to do auto updates when I went looking. I did find a yahoo link after I got back on line but it might not be the entire interview. You can ALWAYS go to cnn yourself to Piers Morgan page and find it yourself. I can’t believe the chair warmers who don’t know how to look things up themselves. If you don’t like this yahoo link, I recommend you go to CNN. I’ve been busy away from the pc today. Seek and you shall find, you know?
He was suspended three different times for three different reasons. Once he was in an unauthorized place writing some graffitti. Once it was for tardiness, and once for the baggie. [This is from memory; I believe it’s accurate but someone may have the official list, which could differ on minor details.]
Trayvon was given a pass on having many valuable pieces of women’s jewelry and a flat-head screwdriver in his backpack. The school made no attempt whatever to find out if the jewelry was stolen.
See post 461. You should be ashamed of the degree to which you twisted and misrepresented that quote. Your hatred of Zimmerman came through loud and clear.
"More honest" does not mean 100%, completely honest. His brother will be a witness now regarding this interview if there's a trial. He will be cross examined on George being "More honest" than brother. How honest is more honest?
You are shameless. You said George Zimmerman’s brother said he “lied” more than George. He said no such thing or even close. You claimed George’s brother talked about which of them “lied” the most. He did no such thing. Now you anticipate the brother being cross examined for praising his brother’s honesty, as if there’s something criminal/culpable about being honest. That is just so sick. Your hatred for George is over the top. Seek help.
The bus-driver assault story comes from Trayvon’s cousin. He tweeted Trayvon about something he evidently heard—that Trayvon ‘swung on a bus driver’. It seems pretty obvious it happened; otherwise, why would the cousin be talking about it?
The lack of information is probably a function of the parents. Every time the school releases info, the parents go ballistic and say the school is smearing their son. With lawyers coming out of the woodwork and Mom talking about ‘icing on the cake’ [her description of a video which she claims shows an uninjured George Zimmerman] it’s fairly obvious a major civil lawsuit is in the offing. Nobody wants to be liable, so the paucity of info will probably continue for a while.
I agree with you; sounds like the brother was saying that George would NEVER tell a lie, wehereas the brother was admitting that he might bend the truth occasionally. Since it is George’s testimony to the police that we’re discussing, clearly that is an affirmation of George’s veracity. However “floriduh voter” came to the opposite conclusion is a mystery and suggests that he, despite his denial, is indeed a troll!

You need to do much more research friend. Martin was suspended three times, one for graffiti (in an unauthorized area), another for lateness/truancy and another (latest-2 weeks) for pot residue and a bong in his back pack. He ALSO had taken a swing at a bus driver, according to a relative’s tweet, AND had a watch, 12 items of women’s jewelry, along with a burglary tool ( wide-bladed, flat-head screw driver) in the same back pack that was searched resulting from the graffitti incident , but was not charged for that because the cops had no evidence that those items could be tied to a burglary. Makes me think that burglary was where he came up with the resources to have those gold teeth of his made! A wannabe gangster, IMO!!

BINGO! Seems most of the perps’ families come up with that common meme: “but he was such a GOOD boy”, when in fact they had no idea what all types of criminal acts he was involved in. If either of my sons had been suspended, I would have been all over his a$$ like a pullet on a June bug, with severe repercussions and intrusions in their personal live and friends/parents they associated with. I would have also turned them in for burglaries and such, in order to nip in the bud a potential life of crime.
I still remember very well my father taking me to the first day of a new school and telling my teacher he expected her to beat my butt if I didn’t do that she said, AND to send a note home with me so he could beat my butt AGAIN! That was 60 years ago...

Spot on. Your comment brings to mind a tagline I once nearly adopted:
Without illogic, liberals would have no logic at all.
That’s how I see the argument you cited. For example, if I say, ‘My pastor is more honest than I am’—which is certainly true so far as I have seen—am I somehow indicting us BOTH??? Could I be called into court (if the need arose) to testify against my pastor for saying he is uber-honest???
My cow; my head hurts from trying to make sense of such a proposition. Trayvon’s defenders would be better served by arguing rationally and factually, as opposed to the smear tactics I have seen so far.

I couldn’t believe the Dad going off at the school for mentioning the jewelry and ‘burglary tool’ in Trayvon’s backpack. Rather than accuse the school of “smearing” his son, he should have come at them w both guns blazing for ignoring what sure looks like breaking, entering and theft. He should have demanded to know why he wasn’t notified at the time.
Some of that jewelry had diamonds on it. The school officials bought Trayvon’s transparently stupid excuse (it’s not mine; I’m keeping it for someone) and just let it go??? No wonder the poor kid went wrong. Nobody in his life was disciplining him w any rhyme or reason. Ten days’ suspension for graffiti, but nothing for serious burglary. That sends a ludicrously bad signal—and the parents weren’t helping.
THAT was George Washington who would never tell a lie. Did you know that seven years ago, George Zimmerman beat up a cop and ended up in an anger managmment class? If you want the link, find it yourself. I heard it on the Radio which I cannot beam radio signals into your computer. : )
Alice, you've been to Trayvon M's fb page. It's well run and there's no violent posts or personal attacks. That's a testament to Trayvon's parents efforts to be who they are and not become pawns for the likes of al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. The breaking news is at Trayvon's page and I'm not linking it here cuz people can go to facebook by their own power.
