A twitter message, allegedly sent by Trayvon's older brother, suggests Trayvon was suspended for assaulting a bus driver.
Trayvon Martin was on a suspension from school when he was tragically shot last February 26th. His school, Dr. Micheal M. Krop Senoir High School, has not given any details. His family has also evaded the issue. According to the Kansas City Star, the length of the suspension was ten days. This suggests a very serious offense.

Seriously, I see the zimmerman as victim side. I see no evidence for anything else.
But when I heard that nasty slur, and I was trying to be very objective and I was biased in FAVOR of Zimmerman, I did see a huge complication in this incident.
This is a recording, not just someone saying they heard it, so it’s pretty damning. It also really sounds like “coon” and since I guess that is a racist term for blacks and this guy was black, it fits Better than the word goon.
Does this recording mean Zimmerman called trayvon something nasty to get attacked? No. Does Zimmerman still look like he shot in self defense? Yes. But will this recording hurt his defense? Hell yes.
If my son were called a dirty k-word, I hate that word so much, I would not blame him if he struck the person. However, I would hope he would just give him one slug and not pummel his brain into the street.
But juries will have bias about a guy hitting someone who called him a racial slur. That can be seen in our world as “asking for it.”. Who knows if the prosecutor will use this argument, but probably. “the shooter was already racially inflamed as he took off after this poor boy...” can’t you see it?
He has to get indicted first - and maybe he won’t be. He wasn’t directly arrested or indicted after the event although the pressure on the local officials will be tremendous. My first reaction to a word like “coon” is that it is so old-fashioned a word that no young man would use it. I hope he didn’t use it but time will tell.
I must admit that I lost all sympathy for the family when I saw Sharpton on tv. As a NYer, I’ve had to put up with this putz for years. I hope MSNBC gave him a home in Maryland or Virginia next to Chris Matthews’ house. I also know about teenage hoodlums - too much to have much sympathy for a brat who was recently caught with a bag full of women’s jewelry and a screwdriver! Emmett Till, indeed.

I could not agree with you more. Sharpton, Jackson, et al were nowhere to be seen when three white girls in our neighborhood were nearly beaten to death on Halloween by about 40 black kids.
There is still nothing to arrest him for because of Zimmerman’s injuries and the witness statement. However, this situation is ripe for a civil case just to fan the fires of racial unrest.
Yes, this guy is going to be in court for as long as poor old Bernard Goetz. But Goetz survived and I’m sure Z will, too.
This is just another log on the fire to stir racial unrest and riots before the election. Then Obama will declare martial law and never leave office.
Martin had a cell phone. If he was afraid because he was being followed why didn’t he call the police? Zimmerman did. And that’s what I would do.
I read this morning that the CNN sound engineers enhanced the quality of the tape looking for the “racist comment” but all agreed it was not there.
Unless CNN doctored that tape, honesty insists that I did hear that offensive term.

Yes, I heard the tape, too. It was in the background of one of the calls but I didnt make out anything except Zimmerman calling for help.
Either your hearing is better than the those at CNN and the rest of us Freepers' or your mind is affecting your hearing so that your ears hear what you want them to hear.
I was talking about “call 1” which was Zimmerman talking to the police dispatcher.
Listen for yourself. It is NOT “what my mind wants me to hear.” I hate language like that on the tape. I was already fully on Zimmerman’s side. But this is what it is. it may not have any actual bearing but it sure inflames things from a racial point of view. Zimmerman is racist. Period. He didn’t say goon. If you can come up with some other word he said with a K sound at the front, maybe, but there is a firm K sound.
I’m sure he shot him in self defense. The injuries and witness prove this.
But he’s a racist. No one else would talk like that.
