Casino magnate Sheldon Adelson contributed another $5.5 million to Winning Our Future, the super-PAC supporting Newt Gingrich, according to Federal Election Commission documents filed Tuesday.
The former House Speaker has vowed to stay in the race until the Tampa, Fla., convention in August, and denies that hes only being kept afloat by the large donations from Adelson.
I have 176,000 supporters at newt.org they want me to stay in the race. I really represent their interests as individuals," he told CBS last week, claiming that "95 percent have given less than $250" meaning they haven't hit their legal limit and can donate more.

Thank you Sheldon. Go Newt!
Total waste of money. He hates Santorum and is using Gingrich as foil to insure a Romney win.
After Newt was close in Alabama and Mississippi, he was quoted as saying no more. Then, after Gingrich is creamed in Louisiana, more money is pumped in. I do not understand the logic.
On Tuesday, the Gingrich campaign said it raised $2.5 million in February, the least of the four remaining GOP candidates, and the campaign spent $2.8 million, leaving it $1.5 million in debt.
In other words, this is not news.

It's news to the people who didn't know about it, especially Newt supporters. The FEC docs were just made public on Tuesday, I think it was.
It buys some time til the landscape changes. And the landscape is changing, just too slowly for my taste. GO NEWT!!
Santorum and Romney are destroying one another quite nicely. Newt will be at the convention as the utlitmate compromise candidate.
The man has taught military strategy at military colleges for thirty years. He isn’t stupid and can be patient.

Carl Cameron said on Fox News tonight that Santorum challenged romney to a debate, and I hadn't heard that before. That should be quite illuminating, to say the least.
Newt, like you said, is now in this totally inscrutable mode, as in let me watch the grasshoppers play for awhile.
FAR FROM OVER. FAR FROM OVER. REMEMBER THAT. (we all need to be reminded sometime)
The politico has written a few articles about Adelson's plans that were very poorly sourced and turned out to be untrue. This info came from the FEC documents, and the money was given in February, but I don't think it has reached the campaign yet, because of all that financial disclosure stuff and the many filings. Or it has just gotten there and put out 1 ad, I think.
You may be right this may be the last, though I haven't heard that...
What a gas! A Santorum and Romney debate!
It will be like watching a collision between an immovable object and a hysterical force.
May The LORD help us. May He perform wonders on our behalf, though we are undeserving, In Jesus Holy Name.

If they perform their norm, Santorum will get a question, and then talk for 5 minutes about a totally other subject, and when the moderator reminds him of the question he didn't answer, he'll talk for another 5 minutes about something, anything, but not the question. And then add, I'm the only conservative with a record of standing up for conservative principles no matter how difficult it was..
Romney will do his darting eye thing, and stutter up a storm...
who knows, it could be a wake up call...
Thank you both for lifting my spirits tonight! You offer good points that make sense.
GO NEWT!
though we are undeserving, so very undeserving, and, as a people, may He hear our faithfilled claim to His mercy and His grace upon each of us, and upon our troubled land.
And all the people said Amen and Amen.
what a lovely little prayer that was, I felt something in my heart from it. It touched me. May it touch the heart of God, also. Thanks for posting that.
And what will happen when everyone gets to the convention, and no one candidate has enough delegates to seal the nomination? It's a long way to that magic number.
Courtesy of thegreenpapers.com is the following count of ‘hard delegates’:
Romney 456
Santorum 196
Gingrich 132
Paul 26
uncommitted 265
GO NEWT!
There's nothing to be down about... it's just a long hard slog, and this was one of the harder, sloggier nights, that's all. We'll get there. Tampa, here we come!!
More like an inscrutable object and a hysterical farce! ;^)
