If one were to gage it from the overall media response, the outline on what Santo said, boils down to the headlines that make the claim. This is what sticks in the minds of the public.
All the excuses, explanations, clarifications, apologies, etc,, won't change a thing. The thing that sticks in 90% of the public minds is the original headline. And in truth, when Santo left so much to be headlined in the first place, this will be the result every time.
And these are not lies, Santo did say it.

I remember as a kid in the schoolyard we settled a lot of things...
...so absent any rational dissent, I can only suppose you are for Romney and then, of course, Obama.

So no honest answer in choosing between Rick Mitt or Obama—even in a hypothetical?
Typical of a covert Mittbotts who have used other candidates--some gone others who should be gone--as covers for their Santorum smears.

LOL! That is one of the most nonsensical opinions I have ever seen used in an adult political discussion. But in your case, it is evident that you are still there. (Based on your final sentence.)

“you need to seriously revisit your own mental capacity.”
I wish Santorum was more articulate and was better at dealing with the media and the issues. But he is not dumb. He is being targeted. He is being lied about. His words are taken out of context and twisted to fit with the false narrative presented by the MSM.
The false narrative is only effective if people spread it. I don't care if you disagree with Santorum or if you think he is not the best candidate.
You don't need to sink to personal insults. People can disagree without personal attacks.

You know what PF? You have a flair of sorts—I can almost hear your voice in your posts.
I remember how when I first read Stephen King way back when the voice in my head was arbitrary. But later when I heard King's actual voice it was as if he were the narrator of his subsequent works in my mind.
Strange.
Oops, sorry—bit of a sidetrack—you are wrong:)

I was speaking in the hypothetical. If you take that personally, then I will withdraw that last thought. I did not say it quite appropriately.
This whole thread has been one big personal attack, on anyone who does not bow down to Rick Santorum. Period.
We have been accused of all sorts of Leftist crimes against those pure and perfect conservatives who command all righteous Profligacy (LOL! That word will keep them busy for a while.)

I don’t think profligacy is even a word.

Facing heightened pressure to revive his presidential bid, Rick Santorum was forced to explain another apparent misstep as he courted Louisiana voters Friday, the eve of a critical contest in a Republican nomination battle that increasingly favors Mitt Romney.First, it's an ABC affiliate story, so there is a slant to it that favors Mitt and tries to diminish Rick. That's where I typicaly tune out.
The language used that I highlighted is indicative of their intent. Santorum's campaign has a reasonably good head of steam to it and more and more voters are being turned off by mittens.

“Profligacy”
a profitable and prolific legacy—as in the Kennedy clan—rich fertile and never ending (mores the pity).

Santorum is virtually done after this month. He will claim the opposite, in his usual grandiose fashion, but in all reality, he has no chance of winning. All these nasty fights and name calling are for nothing.
Alternate plan “B” is what we need to start thinking about from here on out.

It helps to have a good sense of humor up here.

Alternate plan B is what we need to start thinking about from here on out.Go for it. A lot of people here have been looking for an alternative to the current crop of GOP candidates and no one has stepped in.
The RNC has sent trial balloons of Jeb Bush as a brokered candidate emerging from the convention but those trial balloons have been received with a resounding thud and Jeb took himself out of contention by saying he would vote for mittens.
The fact is that the RNC has badly fractured conservatives by forcing Romney on us and, if he ends up as the candidate of choice, a lot of us will either stay home or just NOT vote for him. Either way, Michael Steele will end up being the best friend an embattled Obama EVER had.

“At this stage all who denigrate Santorum”
Wrong again. I vote for the candidate(Newt) that can fix our countries problems. Santorum is not ready to be Potus and definitely not ready to take on this countries problems. We need a junk yard dog not a team player.
I will leave it at that.
