Oh, I understand the potential issues. However, as I stated I use LinkedIn for professional networking. I have a consulting business, and need to maintain and expand contacts in order to grow the business. As long as I am strictly proper in my use of LinkedIn, then that site should be less problematic.

Just like I am careful in my communications on Freerepublic, I am cautious in all of my public statements.

In the end, not being visible can be as much of a problem (professionally) as being too visible can be (personally).

JMO. YMMV.
