But this single verse must be reconciled with all of Scripture. Including these verses:
James 2:26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.
John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
I would say that both James 2:26 and John 15:5 refer to what we do AFTER we are saved!
