Throughout the presidential campaign, we have been lampooned by the pale-pastel wing of the party for not coalescing around the Romney campaign with alacrity. Our detractors have been stupefied by our stubborn opposition to the only candidate who can beat Obama; the man with the requisite resume, funding, organization, intelligence, and persona.
Weve been at a loss to encapsulate our opposition into a one-liner; a bumper sticker. After all, it takes copious pages of ink to explain the extent of Romneys hypocrisy on the issue of healthcare alone. Yet, late in the 11th hour of the campaign, when its probably too late to make a difference, we have finally discovered our symbol that exemplifies Romney. Ironically, it came from his own campaign.
Romneys communication director, Eric Fehrnstrom, had the following exchange with a CNN host:
Host: Is there a concern that Santorum and Gingrich might force the governor to tack so far to the right it would hurt him with moderate voters in the general election?
Fehrnstrom: Well, I think you hit a reset button for the fall campaign. Everything changes. Its almost like an Etch A Sketch. You can kind of shake it up and restart all over again.
Aha! Thats exactly what we were looking for! There is no symbol that emblematizes Mitt Romney more than an Etch A Sketch.

They’re having the same problem in Britain.
What worries me is that this was not even a shock to Romney supporters.
I’m not sure if yours is better because it is real, or mine is more appropriate for Romney because mine is photoshopped.
The goal now is not to have a conservative nominee sweep conservatives into congress, a la 1980. Instead, the goal is to have a tide of conservatism sweep a moderate republican into office so he’ll have nothing to sign but conservative bills.
In the mean time, Romney can spend his time cleaning up the executive establishment. In that, I think he can do a good job.
America must win. Romney must pull out.
"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party
over to the traitors in the battle just ended.
We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged
to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates
wouldn't make any sense at all.""
-- President Ronald Reagan
I am starting to believe something similar... but with one major difference.
What if the reason is... they are scared.
Look around the whole world is melting down.. one spark and this entire place will go up in flames. Maybe the powers that be think a black democrat in the white will keep the natives from getting to restless to so speak...
Just a thought.
But I do agree that the RNC insiders seem to be purposely throwing the election.
I guess now he has no choice but to light his hair on fire to fool fire up the base.
“Get in line behind him!”
“Hes inevitable!”
“Hes the ONLY one who can beat Obama!” (not without the base turning out in support of him).
NOT this time Sparky!
Romney does not care about conservative issues. He does not care about conservative voters other than getting them to vote for him (We dont worry about the base. Theyll fall in line after we get the nomination.) All he cares about is winning the Oval Office. Can he get the support of the very people he keeps kicking dirt on again and again?
Not me.
Not now.
Not ever.
I don’t want him to be the nominee either, and will not vote for him in November. But if trends continue and he’s the nominee, then we can’t be demoralized and stay home. We still need a conservative tide which will sweep conservatives into office.
Lets’s make a moderate squirm for a change by making him sign conservative bills a la Clinton signing Welfare Reform. If Romney is going to be the second coming of Richard Nixon, let’s make sure his legacy is conservative legislation.
If Romney becomes the nominee, most probably he would be, we are going to witness the most painful and most embarrassing flip flops in history of American politics. He will flip flop on any conservative position he took during the primaries and that he deems to be hurtful for him in the general elections. The man is a damn ruthless financier with no core values, no principles, and no heart His only hope for winning is high gas prices all the way up to elections day, other than that Obama would destroy him in the general elections mainly using Bain Capital against him and the class warfare that Romney fits in every possible shape and form.
Mine is photoshopped too...I just couldn’t think up a good caption...
I believe Romney has a problem being truthful, to say the least.
