A solid heart shot stops the heart.
I am not a hunter. Is there no splatter from the bullet impact?

From a 9mm at close range? No. If it was a through shot, unlikely considering 9mm terminal ballistics in a thoracic cavity, there might have been out an exit hole. More telling would be burnt powder residue on the deceased. The more residue, the closer the shooter was.
All of this would have been in the coroners report the PD would have reviewed when making the decision whether or not to charge Zimmerman.
Logical conclusion, ballistic evidence corroborated Zimmerman's account.

The victim is supposedly ON TOP and the shooter ON THE BOTTOM.
Hard to believe there'd be no splatter at all ~ but so far there's no claim that Zimmerman (the shooter) had any splatter on him ~ just a nick on the back of his head.
Later on I'm going to play back all the recordings and see if they indicate that Zimmerman is out on the public roads following Martin back to the development from the convenience store.
Now that I know the layout there this should be a slam dunk.
