Kosovo is not like Albania proper. Albania is secular because of Enver Hoxha, who turned Albania into the first “Officially Atheist State” in the world, he closed down all Christian and Muslim churches in Albania.
Kosovo, on the other hand, was part of Yugoslavia, where Tito was much more tolerant towards religion.
In fact, there is a reason that Albania wants no part of a union with Kosovo, because of fears that the Islamic radicals in Kosovo could try to bring all of the Albanian diaspora under their control.
