What has become of ATF Special Agent Hope McCallister? Did she somehow get a promotion and reassignment to a desk job in DC?

The top Fast and Furious investigator, Special Agent Hope MacAllister, was called in and found Acosta to be very cooperative. ATF could have kept Acosta under lock and key, squeezed him for still more information, even made a deal. Instead, they just let him go. I love it when girls play detective. As long as our Affirmative-Action numbers are met, what could go wrong?

Why do reports continue to discuss “tracking” when there was no such element in this plot?
