Here is the link showing that the police found Zimmerman bleeding from the nose and the head, and that Zimmerman was detained and questioned, that his gun was being tested, and why he was not arrested.

This should be a common way to find people who jump ugly on innocent people, walking near their home with skittles and tea. I find no fault in it. Zimm was wrong on the facts,,the kid was walking home.
Even if we grant Zimm that he was trying to protect the neighborhood,,, confronting innocent citizens, with NO lawful authority to detain, is dicey business. They might resist you as they have every right to.
You arent in a uniform, a cop car, etc.
