The White House said Tuesday afternoon that President Obama’s older daughter Malia was unharmed by a 7.4-magnitude earthquake that shook Mexico, where she was traveling on a school trip.
“In light of today’s earthquake, we can confirm that Malia Obama is safe and was never in danger,” said Kristina Schake, communications director for First Lady Michelle Obama.
The quake struck the Oaxaca region of Mexico at 12:02 local time, according to the US Geological Service, and spread over roughly 10 miles.

Is the headline meant to imply she was at the epicenter? Talk about using their kids....(shaking my head).

When we were kids ‘Spring Break’ was like Good Friday off and then maybe the Monday after Easter. As for taking any exotic travel trips that was totally out of the question.

Apparently the trip was organized by the exclusive school she goes to. The school trips have been to other countries as well, but Mexico. Hmmm.
I wouldn’t allow my COLLEGE kids to go on spring break. They took part time jobs during their break.

Besides, if anything had happened to that child, we'd never hear the end of the tsunami of sympathy the MSM would use to wash Duh Won back in.

Well, the average american traveling to Mexico doesn't get to go with 25 guys whose only job is to keep them safe at any cost yet stay out of the way of fun, you know, blend into the background

Oaxaca's airport features a thatched roof terminal building.
The city resembles Spain in the 1600s because it can trace Spanish influence from those years. It was peaceful when we were there, just after Christmas. We found out later that we had just missed the Oaxaca Radish Festival.
These people go on vacation every 8 weeks. We'll probably run budget surpluses a few weeks after they leave.
How about no more personal stories about the kids, Barry or his wife- I am sick of them all.
Oh I can’t even imagine how they would use that.....I don’t advocate that at all but they would use it politically and the World stage would be front and center. Besides the fact that I never want anything to happen to that family at all, I just know how they are they would use it to an advantage.
