Stand your ground is not exactly the same as the Castle Doctrine. Castle doctrine means you don't have to retreat within your own home before using deadly force. Stand your ground extends that principle outside the home.

Castle doctine is different from Stand Your Ground. Fortunately, we have both in Florida. I don’t think either applies to Zimmerman’s actions.
