I’m not disagreeing with either of you - the point I was trying to make was that we should stick to the facts – the implications in the thread was that taxpayers are fully funding a personal (unsupervised) international vaca for first daughter, a bunch of her friends, and the ss guys, when in reality it’s a school trip, all the kids are paying their own way, and the school plans these “minimesters” (which aren’t promoted as vacations, but learning experiences) every year for all of their kids.

You’re both correct in that it’s a stupid trip and she shouldn’t have gone (like she really needs another vacation, sorry, I meant “learning experience”, and the cost of the ss guys and to send her and them to mexico, special flight or not, is sickening) but again, let’s keep it in perspective. If they can “afford” the school, they can “afford” all that goes with it. The school also has a summer program in China - hell, 1 year tuition to that place for just one kid is more than what I pay on my mortgage in a year.

Just trying to keep folks to the facts is all. Things are bad enough where we don’t need to invent stuff to be outraged about.

Agreed, but that wasn’t mentioned in the posted article. Or any of the others I read.

Barack Obama can afford that school because the taxpayers employee him. I am betting we pay for their education. He eats $100.00 Kobe beef, his children want for nothing, his wife vacations and dresses lavishly. The POTUS makes about $400,000.00 per year, and there is no way he and his family could live their lifestyle on that annual income. He spends our money like a drunken sailor and tells us we have to sacrifice.
