According to new details, Sanford police are being accused of altering the statements of witnesses to the incident when Trayvon Martin was shot by neighborhood crime watch captain George Zimmerman.
17 year old Trayvon Martin has been walking back from a local 7-11 with snacks for himself and his father in Sanford during the NBA All Star Game on Feb 26th, when he was following by a car being driven by George Zimmerman, who did call the police non-emergency number to report a suspicious person. According the the recordings, Zimmerman stated the person was suspicious because he was wearing a hoodie and walking too slow in his opinion in the rain.
During the phone call to police he was recorded as saying, "these a..holes always get away."

Sounds like this guy ignored police instructions by following the kid and getting out of his car and engaging him. The kid proceeded to kick his @$$ in his own self defence, and then the guy shot him.
This stinks to high heaven. As a CCW holder he should have been avoiding conflicts, not looking for one. Unfortunately, this will look bad for all honest gun owners and CCW holders. But, he was wrong and killed a unarmed minor. I say throw the book at him.

That depends entirely on his height, bone structure and muscularity. I am NOT in my prime, in fact I am about to turn 68 but I am six four and weigh around 255 without clothing weight, I am in very good condition and if I drop down to 240 people will start asking me again how I stay so “skinny”. AT 220 I look like a stick. I have relatively short legs, a long torso and a naturally large chest and head, it all makes a difference.
His English teacher is on record that it was for tardiness. Nothing violent. No drugs.
Trayvon was under a five-day suspension when he was shot that Sunday night, but Kypriss said it was due to tardiness and not misbehavior.
“Trayvon was not a violent or dangerous child. He was not known for misbehaving,” the teacher said. “He was suspended because he was late too many times.”
Some say the "kid" was over 200 lbs, 6'-3" and a varsity athlete. Does anyone actually know what Trayvon's height and weight was?
Wikipedia puts Martin at 6’3”, 140 lbs. and Zimmerman at 5’9” 250 lbs. Not the most reliable source, I know, but those numbers seem consistent with other news reports about this incident. I think I remember someone saying that Zimmerman is actually 5’2” which would change things quite a bit, but I haven’t seen that repeated anywhere.
