Obama has shredded the Constitution and been allowed to get away with it. He has increasingly been bypassing Congress to "rule" by EO and the Congress is full of so many political cowards that NONE of them are willing to challenge him.

The Founding Fathers did not envision a time when a corrupt congress and house would back a corrupt president and be supported by a corrupt judiciary and press.

The root cause of this destruction of the Republic and the Constitution is the powerful two party political system.

We now have people in positions of power throughout the government and the press who hold their first allegiance to the Democratis party rather than to the United States of America. in fact with many allegiance to the country and the constitution is far down the list or nonexistant.

As a corallary, one of the reasons the Republican party does not currently muster the kind of political power as the democrats is that a good part of people who comprise the Republican base are solid patriots who hold their allegiance to the nation and the constitution first and foremost. Their allegiance to the party is often far down the list after family, country, religion, ethics, morality, etc., etc. For many there really is no party allegiance - the republicans are usually just the lesser evil of two bad choices.

The two party political system, and specifically the democrat party, is destroying America and there is no remedy on the horizon. In fact, in any attack on the system, hard core Republicans fight reform just as hard as do democrats.

The Founding Fathers did not envision a time when a corrupt congress and house would back a corrupt president and be supported by a corrupt judiciary and press.

Actually, they did. Central to their entire scope of government was the notion of the balance of power. The balance of power extends throughout the Constitution and was the basis for the south to secede from the union when they disagreed with the president's decision to free the slaves. In turn, the north also used the balance of power to force the south back into the union.

In addition, the whole issue of the Second Amendment is also about the balance of power. The people were allowed to keep and maintain weapons as a means of maintaining the balance of power between themselves and a powerful, abusive central government.

Where the failure of the Founding Fathers enters into the picture is their failure to predict or envision the political and moral cowards who have taken control of the government. To be sure, the Democrats are bullys who do not hesitate to issue epithets and sound bites that d@mn conservatives. But, the Republicans, as the representatives of conservative values, lack both the courage and moral conviction to stand up for America, the Constitution, and the values that conservatives espouse.
