Two women were charged with child endangerment in the case of a 3-month-old baby who died after being found unconscious in a daycare center in Bristow Thursday afternoon.Prince William County Police charged daycare providers Yolanda Gracelia Larin, 50, of Manassas and Mirna Mendez-Vasquez, 42, of Woodbridge on Thursday following the death reported in the daycare in Bristow. Both women are charged with five counts of child endangerment.
The child, now identified as Teagan Sample, was found unconscious in the daycare and then later died in the hospital. An autopsy revealed no signs of foul play, officials said.

A lot of stuff about this story doesn’t add up. Licensed or unlicensed? Child just up and died? What endangerment ... running drugs or prostitution? Whole story is short on facts and long on creative writing.
what kind of person would leave their 3 month old in a place with 23 other children... let alone with only two sitters???
The man who lives next door to the daycare center, Garcia Doores, says he feared the worst about what was going on. However, he never told anyone about his concern.
“I knew it was not licensed,” Doores said. “I don’t get involved in other people’s business, but I knew it was going to happen sooner or later.”
They might ought to press charges against him....Typical illegal always say, “I don’t get involved in other people’s business...
Yes, the women running the daycare are charged with child endangerment simply because they had too many children there to watch them well - there was no indication of injury or “foul play.” No suggestion that a four-year old sat on the baby. Nothing. But the parents put their little baby in this place so they are just as liable for “child endangerment.” No way could they not know there were over twenty children there.
In truth, it’s possible the baby might have died at home with an attentive loving parent, of SIDS, or of an illness more serious than recognized.
i have no idea the cause of death, but yes i DO hold the parents to blame for putting their baby in that kind of environment, ie child endangerment
Two unlicensed daycare workers were arrested and charged with child endangerment stemming from the death of a 3-month-old child on Thursday in Prince William County.
Yolanda Gracelia Larin, 50, of Manassas and Mirna Mendez, 42, of Woodbridge are being charged with child endangerment. The death of Teagan Sample, the girl who passed away on Thursday at the daycare where they worked, is a separate instance, police said.
The investigation into the daycare operation revealed that only two providers were present during yesterday’s incident,” police said.
Police say there were more than 20 children at the daycare when they arrived.
“A total of 23 children, ages ranged from newborn to 4 years old, were at the residence when police and detectives arrived to investigate the death. Five of the children, not including the deceased, were less than 12 months old,” police said.
“The child death investigation is still ongoing and an autopsy is expected this morning, however, it is likely that the official cause of death will not be known immediately. There were no signs of obvious trauma. The two daycare providers have been charged in reference to the daycare operation only,” police said.
Both women have been charged with five counts of child endangerment and are being held on $20,000 bonds. Their court date is set for May 16, 2012.
It happened at around 12:42 p.m. at the 13200 block of Sapphire Ridge Place in Bristow, Va., police said.
this happened close to our home. What I don’t understand is that there are dozens of licensed places around here that provide these services. There are even services provided at the local churches for a similar cost and they don’t require you be a citizen, just that you get a physical and have the shots, which you can get for free. Why go to an unlicensed, unregulated place?
23 kids? I have two and I’m pulling my hair out.
