Sadly, disagree....there's no longer an "Old Corps"; just a bunch of 'lifers' who couldn't hack it in the real world, covering their asses until tit-time.......same phocking reason I got my ass out of the Marine Corps as quick as my time was up waaaay back in 1968.

In other words, the ones who know what to do and how to do it are being forced out in favor of someone who might be able to run 1.5 miles within standards but couldn't aim a rifle if his life depended on it.

I served with plenty of “lifers” in the Corps and know plenty who have retired and done well. When I left the Corps and became an AF “lifer” I have also done extremely well as have most all I served with.
It sounds like the only one who couldn’t hack it was you. Were you a draftee? That would explain a lot of the attitude.
