By virtue of the generosity of one of my friends, also an FMF Corpsman, I have the entire canon of Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem on CD. I had bought a lot of it on vinyl years ago. One that has stuck with me more than most of the others is "Bold Fenian Men" (Down By the Glenside).
I went on my way, God be praised that I met her!
Be life short or long, sure I'll never forget her!
We may have good men, but we never had better!
Glory-o, Glori-o to the Bold Fenian Men!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)
