Bales was frequently the lead guy in the door whenever we conducted a raid (we did about 50 of them). He never complained, he wanted to be there for his guys. A tremendous NCO. I'm guessing everybody, no matter how rock solid, has his breaking point.

They certainly do. That's what pains me so much about this. Such a great guy reduced to this by those people. Just awful.
