“Krauthammer may have some odd opinions from time to time, but he is not a liberal for cripes sake.”
He may not be a leftist but he is a liberal, like many neoconservatives- essentially they were once the Scoop Jackson wing of the Democratic Party who parted company with the Democrats over Carter’s foreign policy and decided to ally themselves with Ronald Reagan.
Clyde Wilson wrote of this invasion of re-badged liberals:
” The offensives of radicalism have driven vast herds of liberals across the border into our territories. These refugees now speak in our name, but the language they speak is the same one they always spoke.
However unlike many neocons Krauthammer didn’t support Ronald Reagan; in fact Krauthammer wrote speeches for Walter Mondale in 1984, trying to defeat Reagan in the 1984 campaign.
So I’m not sure when Kraut began passing himself off as a sort of conservative, but he’s been doing it for long enough to convince people that’s what he is. So while I’m glad that he’s not working for the other side anymore, I don’t trust his judgement or his motives. The same goes for Michael Medved.

Ditto on both. These are former moderate liberal Democrats.
Krauthammer was absolutely giddy on Fox News, when they announced Obama the winner. I’ll never forget that lugubrious unrelenting grin on his face. I was mortified!!
