I posted the following on a thread about Paul Harvey’s “IF I WERE THE DEVIL”.
I think it applies to your comment as well.
God gives man what he needs. Lucifer wanted to give man what he wants. Lucifer challenged God proposing that Man would worship him for giving him man he wants, rather than God giving him what he needs.
God gave man free will. The problem is that man chooses the wrong things, the evil things, the bad things, the things that appeal to the senses, the lust, the desire for power and control over others. The DEVIL in is man, not Lucifer.
The result (as described in theological literature) is that man is turning away from GOD (what he needs) and turning to EVIL (what he wants).
It is all up to us. When enough turn away from God, then we will see what most would call the end of the (civilized) world. Not because GOD will do something to us, but because we will have done it to ourselves.
Very interesting, that Paul Harvey had a great mind.
God is always telling us to turn to Him. That is a choice we must make everyday and the closer we are to Him, the less chance the devil in us can confuse and mislead.
