As you can see in the video below, Paul Quander, the District’s deputy mayor for public safety and justice, responded that crime victims should give the criminals what they want. Mr. Portman protested, saying, “But how do you know you’re going live and survive? You’re completely at their mercy.”
Mr. Quander thinks victimhood is preferable to self-defense. “The problem is, if you are armed, it escalates the situation,” Mr. Quander told residents. “It is much better, in my opinion, to be scared, to be frightened, and even if you have to be, to be injured, but to walk away and survive. You’ll heal, and you can replace whatever was taken away.”

Sorry to reply to my own post, it’s my first post and I submitted before I added my own comments.
This is how dangerous liberals are. This Deputy Mayor actually thinks it’s better to be terrorized by armed criminals than to respond with force. There exists a liberal school of thought that says if you just cooperate and give a criminal what they want (submit to rape, hand over your wallet, or allow yourself to be killed) you can minimize the violence of the situation. Of course, we citizens (the victims) come out on the losing end.
That’s correct. That’s why criminals love gun control laws. It makes their jobs easier and safer.

LOL, if the author (or reader) believes that then your name is ‘gullible’. Mr Q is speaking in the royal sense really — YOU should be a victim, little person. If your lot is to be beaten to a bloody pulp or be killed, oh well. Mr Q and his caste are Important People who have leave to do whats necessary to protect life and wealth even if its preemptive and/or reckless. So, shut up about this self defense business, thats for Important People only.
I ‘refuse to be a victim’ of Political Correctness any longer.
Therefore, I point out the obvious:
1. The DC Libtard “Po-lice Authoritay” who ordered submission to violent DC criminals, who are nearly all black, is also black.
2. A case can be made that this Po-lice Authoritay’ is an unambiguous and transparent case of racist speech.
No person, of any color, has the ‘right’ to rob another. If the citizens were to kill all such robbers, DC would be a better place for the law abiding to live.
Conclusion: DC is attempting to make DC safe for robbers, and the ‘Po-lice’ leadership is part and parcel of this conspiracy of law enforcement and government to deprive the citizens and visitors in the DC area under their authority, of their rights and are so doing under color of law.
That is a federal felony if done by whites.

When Quander said it would be better to be robbed and even injured, instead of fighting back, somoene should have walked up to him and demanded his money or take a beating...
That 'someone' would have been shot by Quander's bodyguards.
