Obama won’t have the price back to $2. $2 gasoline would require a peaceful settlement of the Iran nuclear problem.
If you read more of the articles that have been posted, you will see that what Obama was discussing was releasing the US oil reserves to fend off a shortage in Europe due to the Iranian sanctions. I actually think that is what he did the last time too, send the oil to Europe, not the US.
Obama is not worried about the US price of gasoline, he’s worried about the world price.
